For plumbers, HVAC, electrical, roofing & landscaping

You can't answer the phone
from under a sink.

Hands full, gloves on, phone in the truck. Meanwhile someone with a burst pipe is calling you, getting voicemail, and dialling the next name on Google. Valence picks up on the first ring, works out whether it's an emergency, and books the ones that can wait.

Inbound · 6:52 AM · Monday
Caller Hi, my water heater's leaking all over the garage floor.
Valence That's worth dealing with today. Have you been able to shut the water off at the valve on top of the tank?
Caller I think so, it's stopped getting worse.
Valence Good. Dave has a slot at 11:30 this morning, or he can come first thing tomorrow. Which suits?
Caller This morning, definitely.
Valence Booked for 11:30. Can I take the address and your make of heater? Dave will bring parts if he's got them on the truck.
Same-day job booked at 6:52 AM, before the crew had left the yard.

Answering right now

Don't take our word for it. Go and call one.

That number reaches our own receptionist — the same thing we'd build for you. Ask what we charge. Try to book something. Talk over it, change your mind halfway through, ask it something it shouldn't know. Do what a real customer would do and see how it holds up.

The math

Every missed call is a customer
calling someone else.

The sliders start on numbers typical for this trade. Move them to yours.

Revenue walking out the door

$0

per year  ·  $0 per month

A Valence receptionist starts at $200/month. At these numbers, it pays for itself if it saves 1 call a month.

Illustrative only — this uses the numbers you enter, not a claim about your results. Your own call log is the real answer.

What it handles

Built around how
your day actually runs.

Knows what's an emergency

You set the rules. Burst pipe, no heat in January, sparking outlet — those reach your cell. A dripping tap gets booked for Tuesday.

Books around your drive time

Estimates and callouts land in your calendar with the address attached, so you're not crossing town twice in a day.

Quotes your callout fee

Says your diagnostic or callout charge up front. Nobody's surprised at the door, and you stop wasting trips on people who were never going to pay it.

Screens the time-wasters

"Just wondering roughly what it'd cost" gets handled without pulling you off a job. So does every supplier cold call.

Gets the details before you roll

Address, the make and model, what it's doing, how long it's been doing it. You turn up knowing what's in the van.

Takes the second call

Three people ring during one job and all three get answered. No hold music, no callback list you'll get to at nine at night.

FAQ

The questions we get asked.

It works from rules you set, not a guess. You tell us what counts as urgent for your trade — no heat, no water, anything flooding, anything electrical that smells like burning — and those calls transfer to your cell or your on-call tech immediately.

Everything else gets booked or takes a message. If you'd rather it err on the side of ringing you, we set it that way.

It'll quote anything fixed: your callout fee, diagnostic charge, standard service rates, minimum charges. Those come straight from what you give us.

It won't guess at a repair it hasn't seen, and we'd push back if you asked it to. It says the tech will price it on site, which is the honest answer anyway.

Then it doesn't strand the caller. If you don't pick up, it comes back on the line, takes the details properly, tells them when you'll ring back, and texts you straight away.

You can also set a fallback so urgent calls try your cell first, then your partner, then a message.

Google Calendar and Outlook connect out of the box. For the trade-specific tools — ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro and similar — tell us which one you run and we'll tell you straight whether we can write into it.

Where we can't, the booking arrives as a text and email you can act on in one tap. Ask before you pay for anything.
